September 2024 saw another very successful Chifundo Golf Day. Despite forecasters threatening challenging conditions the first Friday in September was again a beautiful golfing day. Thank you all who made this day such a special one. 42 teams, with a sociable mix of half from Greystones and the rest visiting from near and far.
Greystones golf club again had the course, catering and general hospitality at their usual very high standard. The Chifundo support Team made sure everything ran smoothly. And the summer conditions for the 16th year kept all spirits high and the standard of Golf even higher.
This year’s winners represented some of the great supporters over the many years. The Distance team prize went to our great friends and constant supporters from Luxembourg. Congrats to Eric and Douglas Johnson and Eoin and Richard Butler.
Over the years you will be aware of one great constant supporter Gerry McNamara. This year’s diary got confused and Gerry and Pamela had to fulfil other engagements in Quinta Da Lago. However daughter Caroline took over managing the McNamara teams and proved one better than the Dad by managing the winning team on the day. Congrats to Derek Hickey, Brian O’Neill, Mick McNabb and Tony Honohan. An all Greystones team, won by 2 full shots on the day. Well done Caroline.
To all who supported the day in any way our sincere thank you. Your enjoyment and effort returned over €40k tor the third year in a row.
